My own family history taught me to ask precise questions
My own family tree contains over 2,300 people, with some branches traced back seven to ten generations. Every link required work with sources: a surname can change, a register can have gaps, and a memory can conflict with a record.
How I work
I start with your information and a specific question, then check the locality, available years and archival collections. Before the search begins, we agree on its scope, budget and the format of the result.
I work with records in Latin, Polish, historical Ukrainian, Church Slavonic and German. I mark uncertain readings and explain what remains to be checked when the evidence is incomplete.
What matters in the finished research
You should be able to open a source and understand why a person belongs in your tree. The report should make the limits of the search clear, and the materials should remain useful to your family for years to come.
I handle clients’ private materials with care. Any sharing of a study is discussed separately; the website shows publication samples.
